Speedway is one of the few stadium-based motor sports where spectators can see the whole race. Four riders compete four laps on a 300-metre shale track. The intense action races last around 60 seconds with speeds touching 70mph. The bikes have pre-set gearing for different tracks and no brakes. Speed is controlled via the throttle and sliding the machines into the bends.
